You may have heard of Invisalign, an invisible and comfortable way to straighten teeth without the involvement of traditional metal braces. Many of our patients who had never considered getting braces end up deciding to improve their smiles with Invisalign.
How does Invisalign work?
This process involves the progressive use of removable aligners, which are custom made for your comfort. Aligners are worn all the time except when you are eating, drinking, or brushing and flossing. You will wear each new aligner for about two weeks, causing your teeth to gradually move, and then visit us to be fitted for the next aligner in the series.
How long does it take?
This gradual process uses somewhere between 18 and 30 aligners and takes between 6 and 15 months to complete.
Unlike with traditional braces, Invisalign doesn’t have any wires to cause discomfort. Best of all, most people won’t even notice that you’re wearing the aligners!
